An Occurence at Owl Creek Bridge

An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge from 1963 is a very unique film, because of its narrative structure. Made up of dreams and memories, the narrative takes place in a very short amount of time, though the film runs for a little under a half hour. The sound makes the whole film feel very dreamlike, and the way in which the characters interact and move, add to this quality. Though there is very little dialogue, the story is easy to follow, and the viewer is definitely sucked into the escape of the main character. When the film ends with the hanging of the main character, the viewer is shocked back into reality.
